We've got a lot of news this week! A brand new HubSpot integration, some nice UI improvements, minor site auditor updates, and important information if you're using Instagram.
Let's dive in to take a look at everything now.
HubSpot CRM Integration
That's right! Our brand new HubSpot integration allows you to pull in data on your web traffic & on-site content (HubSpot marketing analytics), as well as all of your emails and contacts.
If you're using HubSpot as a CRM, a marketing tool, or for analytics, your client reporting just got a whole lot better. We've had a lot of users request this integration, so we're super excited to make it available.
Connect HubSpot now to instantly access all of your client data (you'll find it under "Analytics" in your campaign's left side menu), and check out AgencyAnalytics on the HubSpot app marketplace.
Here's a quick tour of our new HubSpot integration:
First up you'll find detailed information on your website traffic, both as an overview and broken down by channel.
Switch across to Email or Contacts at the top of your dashboard to see data on email campaigns, leads, customers, and a lot more. You'll have all of your CRM data at your fingertips.
And don't forget your on-site content stats. Track landing page effectiveness, CTAs, blog post views, contact rates, and more!
Add all of the above to your automated client reports, alongside data from any of our other integrations. Note that your access to certain HubSpot features will depend on your HubSpot subscription tier.
You'll find all of these new HubSpot features available under Analytics in each campaign's left side menu.
Prior to our new HubSpot integration, "Analytics" was dedicated just to Google Analytics. With the addition of HubSpot you now have two options, which leads us into today's next big piece of news:
As you've just read above, both HubSpot and Google Analytics are now found under our "Analytics" left side menu option. This is just one of the UI updates we've implemented. The UI changes we've made this week are:
1) To make things smoother and simpler in our interface, and
2) To pave the way for more exciting integrations and updates to come.
Here's a full overview of the UI changes you'll see in your account, along with their benefits:
Compress / Expand Menu
This is an important one, especially if it looks like something has disappeared from your menu (don't worry, it hasn't!).
When you're viewing data inside a campaign, the left side menu is now compressed by default.
This means you'll only see the integrations you've connected.
You can click the "Expand Menu" option (at the bottom of your left side menu) if you need to quickly find something.
We've made the decision to compress the menu because of our ever-growing list of integrations (and there's many more to come in 2020!).
Otherwise, this menu will simply get too crowded if all integrations are shown by default.
Google Analytics Dashboard Update
Since we've added the HubSpot option to our Analytics menu, we've moved your Google Analytics menu options to the top of the Google Analytics dashboard (and we've also made them always visible).
Along with streamlining our left side menu, this makes it much faster to see and access all of your Google Analytics dashboard options.
Previously you'd need to go to the left side menu, click Analytics, then choose your dashboard (for example "Conversions") to see this data.
Activating Our SEO Tools
Today's next UI update gives you a lot more control over exactly how you use our in-house tools in each campaign.
What tools am I talking about here? Our site auditor, rank tracker, backlink manager, competition dashboard, and Majestic backlinks data.
You'll have the option to enable these tools in new campaigns, or keep them switched off until you need them. Previously, these were always enabled by default (with no way to switch them off).
Simply head to our integrations dashboard to activate any of these tools at any time: You'll find them under SEO.
If you're not running site audits or tracking rankings for a particular client, you can keep these deactivated to avoid clutter in your interface.
Along with keeping your campaigns clutter-free, we're also planning to add more backlinks integrations in 2020!
This particular UI change paves the way for you to choose exactly which backlinks platform you want to add in each campaign (or to simply disable backlinks if they're not relevant for a particular client).
Our backlinks manager is now a stand-alone option under SEO (in the left side menu).
Since this feature can be used regardless of whether you've activated Majestic backlinks data, it makes sense to give it its own place in the SEO menu. Previously the backlink manager was found inside our "Backlinks" dashboard area.
If you haven't used it yet, the backlinks manager is perfect for keeping track of your link building efforts (you can log and report on all of your hard work), or for reporting specific links to clients.
New Campaign "Settings" Dashboard
Remember that little gear icon at the top of each campaign?
We've moved all of those options to the left side menu, under "Settings".
The campaign settings dashboard allow you to edit your campaign's name, URL, rankings settings, PPC markup, white labelling, and more.
This update makes those campaign settings much easier to find (that old gear icon was pretty easy to miss), and puts everything within a single menu on the left side of each campaign.
Rankings Dashboard Updates
You'll also notice a few small changes to your rankings dashboard today.
To make your rankings data more visible, we've added clickable widgets below your charts.
You can click any widget to see a full chart of that metric.
Previously, that data was shown in small tabs at the top of your rankings charts.
This rankings dashboard update give you a faster overview of your keyword movement, and brings our rankings interface in line with how we display data for all of our other integrations.
Site Auditor Updates
Along with adding HubSpot support and improving our UI, We've released a few small updates to our site auditor.
The most noticeable change is how we test and display canonical pages:
You can now see a clear indication of the canonical status for every single page that we scan (either "canonical", "non-canonical", or "not set").
Just head to your Site Auditor > Pages dashboard to find this information in the table for any new audits you run.
You can easily toggle that new Canonical column via your site auditor dashboard settings (at the top right of your screen).
We also now crawl and fully test non-canonical pages. Prior to this update, non-canonical pages were excluded.
Here's a quick overview of the other site auditor changes we've implemented today:
We've added a page crawl limit in your site auditor settings (so you can limit the number of pages we'll scan).
You can hide the site auditor settings and "ignore" buttons from client or staff users (via their user permissions).
Site audit scan dates and times are now based on your campaign's report timezone.
We've made some site auditor speed improvements for certain types of websites.
Important Information For Instagram Users
The last piece of news today is an important one for customers using Instagram.
Instagram are shutting down their current API in early 2020, and replacing it with Facebook's Instagram Graph API.
This means that all users will be required to have an Instagram business account, and have that business account linked to a Facebook account, when connecting to AgencyAnalytics.
What does this mean for your Instagram integration?
There are three steps you'll need to take to keep access to your data:
Step 1) You'll need to set up an Instagram Business account if you don't already have one (see here for instructions).
Step 2) You'll need to link that Instagram Business Account to a Facebook account (see here for instructions).
Step 3) You'll need to reconnect Instagram in our platform using your Facebook login credentials. To reconnect Instagram in AgencyAnalytics, go to your Integrations dashboard. Click Instagram, and follow the instructions to switch the account that's connected:
Note that this must be done prior to early 2020 when Instagram shut down their current API.
Starting today, we'll prompt admin and staff users to reconnect Instagram via the new method.
